The Supply Chain & Information Systems (SCIS) Department of the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA) invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track position in Supply Chain & Information Systems for a Fall 2026 start date. Salary is competitive.
Candidates at all ranks must have a PhD degree by the appointment start date in supply chain management or related field. A strong commitment to research and teaching excellence is expected. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Assistant Professors should show strong research potential and teaching promise. Associate Professors should have a record of high-quality publications and demonstrated teaching excellence. Full Professors should have a distinguished research record, recognized scholarly leadership, and evidence of teaching and mentoring excellence. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active research program, perform undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage in service activities. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this position.
The SCIS Department comprises a vibrant, research-active faculty with research and teaching interests that traverse the end-to-end supply chain and includes business logistics, sourcing, manufacturing, and service operations. The department offers degree programs in supply chain management, management information systems, and business analytics. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in supply chain management with an emphasis in technology management that would complement the faculty with high-quality research and teaching in student-centered and collaborative learning environments.
