Overview: The Buyer will source materials, products, and services from qualified vendors, while meticulously monitoring costs, quality, and delivery to ensure alignment with our business model and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Issue purchase orders for sales, production, and stock needs
Respond to price and delivery requests for non-stocked items
Evaluate stocking levels to minimize inventory
Negotiate with suppliers on price, lead time, and quality
Conduct vendor audits, inspections, and negotiations
Use inventory management programs like JIT, MRP, and E-commerce
Coordinate with Product Managers, Material Control, and Production
Maintain product ownership, including purchase price and lead time
Ensure accuracy of purchase order delivery dates
Develop relationships with suppliers
Communicate professionally with team members and suppliers
Provide performance feedback to suppliers
Perform other assigned duties
Qualifications: Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
1-3 years of experience or education in procurement, inventory management, or a supply chain related field
Proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools like Power BI
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams,
Familiarity with purchasing techniques, including RFQs, blanket orders, and product demand discounts to enhance strategic costing capabilities.
Preferred:
Foreign language skills
CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) certification
Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
