What Maintenance Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes. Maintenance Engineering is responsible for enhancing/developing processes, layout and associated tools. Identifies, analyzes and implements new or existing technology to optimize business processes. Job Summary
The Manager, Maintenance Engineer has primary responsibility for conducting predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, to minimize downtime, reduce costs and maximize productivity, at the Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC). Reporting to the Director of Operations, and overseeing an asset management team, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, conducting routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures, performance preventative maintenance tasks, keeping thorough documentation all while reducing costs and adhering to established budgets. The incumbent will be responsible for hiring, training and developing a high-performing team. The incumbent is accountable for driving world class operations with a focus on continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations.
About the Consumer Health Logistics Center The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health?s newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Groveport, Ohio. This facility, featuring some of the latest innovations in automation technology, is approximately 300,000 square feet and picks, packs, and ships approximately $250 million in consumer products each month. Location
This is an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center.
Responsibilities
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of equipment and machinery.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and develop and execute maintenance plans to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Analyze data to identify trends, diagnose problems and develop solutions to improve equipment reliability and performance
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Network Operations, Finance, Sourcing, HR, etc.), site leadership and suppliers to develop and execute maintenance plans that aligned with business strategy.
Provide oversight to team members and/or contractors responsible for maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, and identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, schematics, and procedures to support maintenance activities.
Participate in, and coordinate, ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Builds strong teams by providing opportunities for growth and development.
Champion innovation, simplification, and standardization of current solution offerings, operating procedures, methodologies, and processes.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience, preferred
Bachelor?s degree in engineering (Industrial or related field), or equivalent work experience, preferred
Master's degree in business administration, engineering, or another related field, preferred
3+ years of supervisory/management experience, preferred
Possess a strong engineering background with a concentration in distribution operations preferred
Be able to connect the performance (throughput) of a machine to the flow of a process
Integrate machine and system performance into the performance of the facility and the business
Possess strong analytical skills
Possess strong communication and relationship building skills
Can hire a team and hold individuals accountable for results
Understand the importance of Lean Six Sigma principles and the connection to process flow
Contribute to a work environment shows respect for every individual through the relentless pursuit of standardized work

Be familiar with industrial safety practices
