What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.
Job Summary
The Manager, Inventory Management is responsible for overseeing the storage and shipment of inventory in a warehouse. They manage a team of inventory specialists and warehouse workers, ensuring that inventory levels are consistent and meet client demands. They use warehouse management software to track inventory and make decisions about when to purchase goods and how to ship them.
About the Consumer Health Logistics Center The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health?s newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Columbus, Ohio. This facility, featuring some of the latest innovations in automation technology, is approximately 300,000 square feet and picks, packs, and ships approximately $250 million in consumer products each month. Location
This is an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management, to build a high-performing team.
Maintain inventory integrity, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial performance to plan.
Develop tools and procedures to ensure the integrity and salability of CHLC inventory and maximize space utilization.
Lead inventory and capacity utilization projects that will deliver ROI. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through effective use of root cause problem solving.
Collaborate with various departments including Procurement, Corporate Inventory Management, Customer Service, Sourcing, QRA, Finance, Human Resources, and Transportation.
Participate in, and coordinate, ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Builds strong teams by providing opportunities for growth and development.
Champion innovation, simplification, and standardization of current solution offerings, operating procedures, methodologies, and processes.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience, preferred
Bachelor?s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
5+ years if supervisory/management experience, preferred
Possess a strong understanding of inventory management principles and measurement systems preferred
Understand inventory?s impact on business performance
Be able to connect the amount of inventory in a process to a process?s performance
Possess strong analytical skills
Possess strong communication and relationship building skills
Can hire a team and hold individuals accountable for results
Possess the ability to learn and execute activities within warehouse and inventory management systems
