Analyze and improve distribution center processes and procedures for optimizing quality, customer service, productivity, safety, and asset management. The successful candidate will bring experience in engineering solutions relative to creating distribution center layouts, analyzing productivity, enhancing strategies and work methods, and creating pricing models.
Lead continuous improvement activities including engineered labor standards, packing techniques, optimization of storage space, process mapping and improvement, slotting of products, and application of new technology
Work with 3PL and supply chain partners (purchasing, manufacturing, transportation, distributors, etc) to develop and implement improvements to D.C. processes and procedures for optimizing quality, customer service, and productivity
Develop information systems and methods to analyze and report on distribution center metrics
Develop an information system and procedures to manage new product introductions, product changes, and process obsolescence
Develop logistics requirements and standards for packaging, labeling, pallets, load sizes, etc. and work with other groups to implement
Analyze material movement and improve material handling systems, processes and procedures to meet and exceed material movement needs
Analyze existing storage solutions and material handlings processes and recommend optimal strategies to maximize efficiencies
Improve warehouse flow by optimizing storage strategies and zoning
Establish themselves as a superuser in WMS
Lead troubleshooting, testing and implementation of changes
Identify opportunities for cost and inventory reductions by configuring products to order in the distribution center. Coordinate activities associated with establishing necessary assembly, testing, packaging and labeling systems for these products
Prepare economic analysis and cost justification for new capital equipment
Continually re-evaluate work process for productivity improvements
Champion and understand the use of lean manufacturing techniques
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures
Participate in troubleshooting, analyzing, and correcting problems within team and distribution center
Networks across the organization and develops successful internal and external relationships
Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
Initiate and lead task teams to enhance DC performance
Partner with all levels of plant management in responding to and implementing change
Acts as a liaison with partner between Rockwell Automation and 3PL
Influence beyond own team; Ability to create a network of influence with peers and 3PL partners
Must be adaptable and possess excellent negotiation skills to be able to influence all levels of management with 3PL partners
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network
Implements and directs cost reduction strategies through LEAN programs to meet or surpass all cost, quality, productivity, performance, efficiency and specific objectives
