The Logistics Project Manager is responsible for leading medium to high complexity programs and/or projects in support of the global transportation strategy. This highly visible role will be instrumental in implementation of technology, delivering productivity and improving our customer experience (including next generation visibility). This Logistics Project Manager role will work closely with the broader Supply Chain team to ensure we are executing cross-functional improvement throughout our network (20 manufacturing locations, 2300+ suppliers and 160+ authorized distributors).
This position will require capability to manage programs globally with an emphasis on implementation of transportation management system while driving continuous improvement in the Logistics organization. Additional projects may include network optimization analysis, RFQ and RFP productivity projects, carrier implementation & exits, business continuity, service level improvement and process optimization opportunities. Significant cross-functional engagement with groups outside Logistics may be required.
Participate in development of our Global Transportation Management System strategy and lead the cross-functional implementation
Lead project teams in support of complex, and often critical, cross functional logistics and supply chain strategies / related business initiatives
Lead large and/or complex projects in support of preferred vendor strategy, productivity (RFQ / RFP), service level improvement, business continuity and process optimization
Achieve operational objectives and timing by developing integrated project plans and schedules while creating and driving action plans in accordance with business objectives and target completion dates
Demonstrated ability to attain results and influence others outside their direct control or area and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources
Identify and mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain for all assigned projects and activities
Work closely with Sourcing, Operations, Finance, and Engineering, in support of Supply Chain road map initiatives
Recommend Project Management improvements through the elimination of variation and waste, focusing on continuous process improvement while serving as a coach and mentor to others
Networks across the organization and develops successful internal and external relationships
Exceptionally strong organizational and communication skills including executive level engagement.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional projects / assignments requiring identification of objectives, resources and/or approaches
Advanced understanding of project management methodology and software
Proven experience driving aggressive business outcomes through strong execution
