Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking a Sr. Packaging Buyer. This position is responsible for facilitating and coordinating an effective process for procurement of company packaging materials. They must assure adequate quantities of qualified materials are available to efficiently and economically meet Franklin’s objectives.
Essential Job Tasks (includes but not limited to)
Develops purchasing strategies for packaging materials.
Prepares purchasing plans and actions in support of the Business Units’ plans.
Prepares or modifies contracts and supply agreements with vendors that protect interests of the company.
Fosters long-term relationships with vendors yet negotiates favorable terms.
Holds vendors accountable for service and quality issues related to packaging, and monitors their response in the form of corrective or preventative actions.
Oversees and coordinates the implementation of new artwork with internal marketing communications team and with printers.
Communicates price changes and commodity pricing trends to the organization.
Advises Material Management on availability, lead times and order quantities.
Knowledge and Skills
BA or BS degree required, plus 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or materials management.
