BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST III , Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) , to work across departments, labs, centers, and administrative functions to align technology solutions with business strategies related to a wide variety of supply chain logistics. Responsibilities include analyzing project requirements and processes, troubleshooting, maintaining continuous surveillance on assigned cases to determine progress and identify delays, and coordinating assigned actions with other teams and organizations to ensure objectives are met. Will strive to address scalability and operational improvements on many fronts, with an initial focus on launching the eShipGlobal system. Will serve as a systems administrator, facilitating shipment and delivery of material by ensuring the system works effectively and that processes and procedures are thoroughly and effectively communicated to the MIT community.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in a related field; at least five years' experience in supply chain logistics, shipping analytics, and/or transport of hazardous materials; experience providing superior customer service; knowledge of shipping industry requirements, including domestic, international, and hazardous material shipping; strong analytical, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills; effective judgment, tact, and diplomacy with sensitive matters; and proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must be able to build positive relationships with individuals at various levels across MIT, juggle/reprioritize multiple projects with varying levels of involvement, analyze and synthesize information in a concise manner and make recommendations to resolve issues, and prepare reports and give presentations. PREFERRED : experience with international shipping and hazardous materials, International Air Transport Association and U.S. Department of Transportation certifications, and experience with eShipGlobal or other shipping systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) and with procurement systems and processes.
