The Warehouse Leader will develop processes and controls for our new spare parts storeroom and warehouse located in the Maintenance Complex. They will have the opportunity to establish SOP’s and Work Instructions from the start as we transform from an open parts crib to a controlled warehouse, service-oriented approach for asset management and care.
Manage the transformation of Warehouse: receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
Manage physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Lead and collaborate with management to address all aspects of asset care inventory and product availability
Evaluate supplier reliability and delivery matrices.
Manage KPI Tracking for process efficiencies
Establish and document SOP’s
Measure reliability to the various departments of the plant
Lead projects that are significantly impacting the productivity of our operations by using project management skills to implement inventory control strategy by working collaboratively with operations, maintenance, reliability and finance departments.
Associates Degree in related field, Bachelors preferred
Five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Institute for Supply Management (ISM) CPSM or APICS CSCP certification preferred
General understanding of plant equipment and operations
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written necessary to converse with diverse internal customers including senior management
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Must have knowledge of types of parts used in our aluminum rolling mill
Must understand the importance and systematic approach of cycle counting
Leading supplier business reviews and driving supplier performance improvements through collaboration with Maintenance, Operations, and Quality
Able to lead cross-functional training
Strong project management skills with effective communication, influential, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Critical attention to detail and deadlines, and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
Ability to navigate challenging situations in a professionally sensitive manor
Problem solving within a team environment. Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience desirable
Experience with use of spreadsheets and databases
Managing spend/budget needs
Developing collaboration and empowerment throughout the organization
Understand company requirements for protection from loss, insurance requirements, indemnity, etc.
Managing key suppliers to strengthen relationship while ensuring continuity of supply and reducing business risks
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be proficient on standup forklifts and motorized pallet style lifts
