About the Supply Chain Internship:
As a Texas Instruments’ Procurement & Logistics Intern, you'll be assigned one or more challenging projects while also joining a team that is actively seeking, finding and implementing practical solutions to real-world business challenges. In this role, you will apply the skills gained through your college experiences while also gaining valuable business, technical and life skills as a part of TI’s exciting internship program.
When you join TI as an intern you tackle important projects early on. You don’t shadow. You don’t make copies. You dive into meaty projects right away that challenge you to find creative solutions to complex problems. You learn while you work and vice versa. And you get access to invaluable insight and mentoring from TI’s top leaders.
About the Supply Chain Development Program:
The Supply Chain Development Program (SCDP) at Texas Instruments within the Worldwide Procurement and Logistics (WPL) organization provides new college graduates three consecutive 12-month assignments across various functions of TI’s supply chain. This unique program will help you develop valuable skills in a collaborative environment that will put you in direct contact with key leaders at TI. Overall, the program will accelerate your development by giving you experience and exposure through challenging assignments across different roles within TI, allowing you to make concrete and sustainable contributions. Once your rotations are complete, you will be placed in a rewarding position.
Some responsibilities may include:
Developing and implementing strategies for global sourcing of materials, equipment, and services
Leading bids, evaluating, analyzing and negotiating with global suppliers based on total cost of ownership
Working with suppliers, factory management and engineering groups to manage, implement and sustain cost reduction projects/initiatives
Enhancing supplier performance by managing standards, developing joint improvement initiatives and providing formal feedback to suppliers
Optimizing TI supply chain processes and assessing opportunities to deploy specific logistics programs with suppliers
Developing relationships in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact the semiconductor business
Improving TI inbound and outbound transportation flows, along with optimizing the network of finished goods between TI factories and TI product distribution centers
Ensuring supply chain contingency plans and strategy are up-to-date and easily activated in the event primary suppliers are unable to perform as required
Analyzing TI internal processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and throughput while reducing transactional workload and cycle time using automation as well as 5S/Kanban/Lean Manufacturing processes
Working with community partners and internal stakeholders to engage diverse suppliers to provide innovative solutions and competitive pricing in bidding opportunities
Candidates applying for internship positions must have:
Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, business or related field
Minimum Cumulative 3.0 GPA
