The Medical Sourcing Specialist position exists to procure goods and services and negotiate and manage contracts for the University and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in accordance with various rules, regulations, policies and procedures and under the delegated authority of the President of the University. This position requires a strong team player with a passion for providing excellent customer support. This position will primarily function out of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital with rotations to Procurement Services and other departments within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS). • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. • Must have at least five (5) years of enterprise-level procurement experience in acquiring equipment, supplies and services of a diverse nature within medical/biomedical/scientific categories. • Demonstrated strategic sourcing experience within medical/biomedical/scientific categories to include equipment, services, supplies, pharmaceuticals, etc. • Demonstrated ability developing, issuing and evaluating solicitations, including conducting complex RFP’s. • Demonstrated experience in reviewing, redlining and negotiating third-party vendor contract terms. • Experience with an electronic purchasing and enterprise resource planning system, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple concurrent tasks, meet critical deadlines and effectively manage changing priorities while maintaining professionalism. • Demonstrated ability to train and coach others in proper purchasing processes. • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and all levels of personnel within the University and CVMBS, including senior management and technical experts. • Willingness to engage in professional development.
