This position ensures smooth and efficient operations of the purchasing functions and impacts profitability through effective management of vendor relationships and negotiated pricing and terms, acquiring competitive pricing, thorough and accurate management of records associated with purchasing functions and inventory management.
Success in this position requires ability to:
Communicate and negotiate competitive pricing with vendors; ability to analyze commodity data as it relates to our raw materials.
Read, analyze, and interpret reports, invoices, correspondence, industry and trade journals.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Calculate figures such as discounts, proportions, percentages, conversions (wt./volume, etc.), and volume.
Prioritize duties and to deal with multiple projects and tasks at one time, sometimes in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Negotiate terms and conditions, delivery schedules, prices, etc.
Communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing as most vendors communicates only in this language.
Ability to work efficiently and independently as well as a valuable team member.
High level of maturity and emotional intelligence.

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain related studies is preferred.
Certification as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS or an equivalent. Certification as a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from ISM is preferred.
Valid drivers license.
Work experience must be in a short lead-time batch processing manufacturing environment; duration of experience is based on the certification requirement. Preferred experience in a chemical processing/manufacturing environment.
Work experience with Microsoft Office, CRM, ERP software (SageX3), and/or other industry-related software.
