SUMMARY We are working with a publicly traded, growing, global hi-tech manufacturer to identify an experienced Production Control Supervisor to join their corporate headquarters in Saxonburg, PA.

The Production Control Supervisor will report into the Global Supply Chain Manager. This company is looking for the right incumbent to groom and succession plan into the Global Supply Chain Manager position once that person retires.
POSITION The Production Control Supervisor will supervise a team of 11 individuals across production control planners, buyers/planners, and production schedulers. They will work in a supply chain group in the corporate headquarters of about 40 individuals, and globally with a group of about 60 individuals. Overall their responsibility will cover the Saxonburg operation as well as two sites overseas.
Responsibilities will include: • Aggregate planning overview and SAP ERP data accuracy for the Saxonburg group, which involves scheduling work flows and managing the flow of product in and out of manufacturing areas in direct collaboration with departmental schedulers. • Direct supervision to schedulers, scheduling assistants and utility support in all manufacturing areas and the Asia scheduler as it relates to forecasting, demand planning, stock levels, planning, scheduling, what planning methods to use and overall accuracy of factory load versus factory capacity. • Review and maintenance of standards for processing time and routing maintenance, as well as, monitoring/verifying accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM) for various materials. • Direct exposure to supply chain logistics including direct communication with buyers and Purchasing Manager for purchases from qualified machine shops to provide competitive lead times and on time delivery (OTD) to customers. • Leading the creation, review, and maintenance of supply chain procedures, manufacturing standards including process times, BOM, and recommends optimum shop floor routings. • Being a heavy user of SAP and for MRP data accuracy in conjunction with schedulers. • Helping to conduct load versus capacity studies in support of scheduling, manpower planning, and some make versus purchase decisions. • Reporting loading, backlog, capacities, efficiencies, and utilizations for manufacturing departments. • In addition to planning and scheduling activities, cooperates and advises for scheduling and reprocessing activities, MRB, stocking levels using SAP. • Working closely with the Material Control Supervisor for proper stocking levels in Saxonburg. Analyzes and maintains reports for visibility of this group’s products stocked worldwide. • Backing up Global Supply Chain Manager in his absence.

BASE REQUIREMENTS • BA/BS degree required. Preferred majors include Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Leadership, Organizational Management, or Supply Chain Management. • Master’s degree a plus. • APICS knowledge required. Certification preferred. • 5+ years of progressive responsibility in a similar level position with strong knowledge of scheduling/planning techniques, demand planning, load profile maintenance and forecast methods. • Must have experience working in a large manufacturing environment with multifaceted, high precision/high volume, complex product mix. • ERP experience is a must; SAP highly preferred. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills including SPC, MPS, MRP, VAM, FMEA and distribution requirements. • Understanding of lean principles is helpful. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and physical & drug screen.
