Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to manage all packaging and raw material planning at BASF's Catalyst Manufacturing Plant in Erie, PA and its associated contract manufacturing operations to support the production plans. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the packaging & raw material schedule and managing the master data process.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your thorough understanding of raw material and production scheduling theory and techniques, along with any knowledge you may have of DOT 49 CFR packaging regulations.
APICS (CPIM) certification or nearing completion is preferred. If not current, completion within two years will be required.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related discipline, combined with your related experience, you will manage Raw Material and Packaging Planning for the Erie plant and its associated contract manufacturing facilities by owning the overall raw material and packaging plan in accordance with the production plan, running MRP to determine net requirements, converting planned purchase requisitions into firm purchase orders, and establishing inventory targets, safety stock and tracking/communicating progress.
Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be essential as you communicate the plan to appropriate parties, vendors, production planner, etc.
Using your strong organizational skills and your ability to effectively use ERP supply chain software tools (preferably SAP R/3 MM, IM, SD modules, SAP APO PP/DS, MS Office and corporate e-mail applications), you will be responsible for the plant's raw material and packaging supplies inventory health.
Effectively coordinating with others, you will work with Procurement to establish raw material and packaging alternatives, trial plans, secondary suppliers, and to optimize cost and service. Additionally, you will participate in the supply review meeting.
Being action oriented and having good problem-solving skills, you will act as the Site Material Master (SPASS) coordinator for new finished goods, intermediates, and raw material set-ups, including raw material site authorizations and corporate/regulatory compliance.
Successfully engaging outside of the organization, you will serve as the Supply Chain liaison for contract manufacturers and transloaders.
Working as a team player, you will act as back-up Site Production Planner.
Your ability to effectively set priorities and make decisions in a dynamic work environment will be a valued asset as you act as site liaison for raw material dysfunctional inventory.
Your robust analytical skills will serve you well as you track and contribute input to published KPIs: Inventory value (OIV) and Days of Inventory (DIV), Dysfunctional Inventory, Delivery Reliability, and NCMs (Non-conformance).
