The Materials Planner opportunity at the Grants Pass manufacturing facility will continuously drive improvement in the material planning function to optimize inventory, minimize the impact of part outages on operations, support operations and supplier partnerships, and support supply chain lowest total cost. This role will be project oriented and involved with Operations to drive change.
Determine and manage appropriate inventory levels
Review of order model and placement of purchase orders
Maintenance of reorder model for material review; Ownership and improvement of reorder model
Implementation of parts order process resulting from product development or changes
Work with logistics and buyers to establish and maintain lowest freight cost
Billing resolution with suppliers
Communicate with buyers on issues relating to supplier performance and inventory changes
Communicate with operations on shortages, anticipated shortages, expediting status, etc.
Work with suppliers and plant personnel in resolving receiving / shipping issues
Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials
Understand and coordinate product or supplier changes as required
Research and coordinate special order needs when necessary
Education & Experience
5+ years related experience
Associate or higher degree required, or equivalent experience
Mastery of advanced functionality in Microsoft Excel (ability to modify formulas, import and export data, filter data, set up pivot tables)
Experience with integrated materials / production systems (MRP, ERP) required
APICS certification preferred
Lean Certification preferred
