The Supply Chain Organization strategically sources quality materials and services at lowest total cost using a supplier management program that leverages best-in-class people, systems and processes. The Senior Buyer Planner supports the supply chain forecast-to-procurement cycle for either a specified area of spend or business unit for which spend may exceed $30 million annually and targets for inventory turns and obsolescence have significant impact on business results. The incumbent will be a significant contributor in the aforementioned functional area and could at times collaborate with American Tower's corporate and international operations.
Manage the implications and outlook associated with new product introduction and product life cycle strategy for product obsolescence.
Provide ongoing metrics and reporting related to goals set for forecast accuracy, forecast timeliness, forecast authorization, and forecast-related inventory exposure.
Work with suppliers, colleagues, business partners, and field teams to facilitate the materials and services forecasting and ordering process.
Work closely with the strategic sourcing team to understand contracts with suppliers related to materials and services. Drive demand of materials and services to preferred suppliers.
Resolve issues stemming from forecast and inventory liabilities and respond in a timely manner to internal and external customer inquiries or procedural inquiries.
Evaluate and submit analyses on monthly, quarterly and annual excess and obsolete materials to business units and accounting.
Research and resolve discrepancies related to quantity and quality of products ordered versus quantity and quality forecasted.
Assist with development of streamlined processes for forecast-to-order cycle and have good controls in place for the process.
Lead the reporting of inventory levels and minimize inventory risk
Assist with development of supplier performance measurement and management.
Ensure weekly and monthly inventory transaction, project credit and debit, and other inventory related actions are executed in a timely manner.
Lead quarterly business reviews related to planning activities, results and actions.
Attend project deployment and planning calls.

Demonstrated experience with forecast/demand planning or educational equivalent
Thorough understanding of enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) systems
Ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively
Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results
Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment
Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5 years of materials demand planning experience required
Oracle or other ERP system experience required
Previous customer service experience preferred
Approximately 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel is not expected to be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
