The Category Manager - is responsible for leading: category sourcing, negotiation, risk management, strategy development and execution, supplier management of assigned categories. This entails implementing and developing strategic procurement plans, locating, qualifying, developing and managing appropriate suppliers and negotiating supply agreements/contracts to meet the needs of the company. The person is responsible for budgeting information such as standard costs for goods and services.
What we want you to accomplish:
Accountable for developing and executing the strategic sourcing plan for assigned commodities.
Lead the development and implementation of procurement initiatives and goals for assigned commodities in support of overall business objectives.
Vet and evaluate current and potential vendors to support HJ – wide fabric, apparel and gown requirements.
Develop multi-year negotiation strategies. Manage and track planned and achieved savings initiatives assuring that savings are transferred to annual operation budgets.
Interface with senior leadership to provide strategy, market condition information and trend updates related to commodities and suppliers.
Develop the consolidation business case for consolidation of accessory spend across business units.

5+ years purchasing and management of outsourcing partners
Experience with global sourcing or materials to include import or materials, tariffs, etc..
Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management principles
Demonstrated ability to work with and manipulate complex Excel files
Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong people and management skills to interact with internal and external customers
Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment
Ability to be resourceful and get things done
Education / Certifications required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent work experience.
CPSM and/or APICS certifications significant plus
