Develops and implements procurement plans and strategies to support forecasted needs for business. Establishes and implements strategies for negotiating pricing and terms, partners with the business to develop process efficiencies in the lifecycle of a project. This position has the primary assignment of the Transmission and Distribution Construction Services category of spend; coordinating purchasing processes and strategies for transmission and distribution construction services including engineering services, substation construction and major capital projects. You will support our journey by:
Conducting and coordinating purchasing support activities for complex electrical, mechanical, and civil construction projects.
Designs, develops, implements and refines strategic category plans for assigned categories, leveraging industry experience, including necessary stakeholders to drive for process improvement and cost savings for a sustainable and efficient procure-to-pay process.
Develops requests for proposals, requests for information and requests for qualifications.
Manages the overall contracting process with strategic providers of goods and services; develops requirements, conducts supplier outreach, evaluates proposals and selects and negotiates with suppliers; maintains knowledge of industry developments and opportunities.
Coordinates with senior leadership, Project Managers, Contract Administrators and suppliers; determines procurement needs, creates timelines for procurement, drafts bids and proposals, and ensures timely delivery of goods and services.
Determines the best method for procurement of all purchases; negotiates pricing and obtains best value; complies with all legal requirements and regulatory deadlines.
Oversees contracts including applying extension options, monitoring and rectifying contractor performance or non-performance, and composing formal notifications; monitors vendor performance reports and encourages users to utilize such resources.
Provides customer service to internal and external customers by expediting purchasing processes; ensures positive rapport with customers through effective communication.
You will bring the following skills to our team:
Minimum of eight years of category management/procurement experience; preferably in utilities or industrial settings with an emphasis in construction.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, construction management or related field.
Contract and bid processes, standards, and protocol.
Compliance requirements for contracts.
Insurance and bonding requirements for construction projects.
Experienced in collaborating with project managers, engineering and legal teams.
Construction project management
CPSM or CPIM preferred
Valid driver’s license.
