Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do… - Subject matter expert for the automation system in operations
- Provides solutions to complex reliability and equipment operational problems.
- Owns and ensures timely closure of equipment related quality systems
- Owns and maintains the design and specifications for equipment and instrumentation
- Review automation related SOPs
- Participate in defining Preventive Maintenance programs for production equipment.
- Ensure Information and documentation is consistently accurate.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and Lean workflow, layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential constraints.
- Drive efficiencies using Lean concepts and MES systems
- Supervise other Engineering, Technician, Validation support personnel. Provide training to Automation Technicians
- Support process and facilities engineers in equipment commissioning
- Communicate with equipment suppliers for equipment related issues through all phases of projects.
- Coordinate with Quality and Engineering during the qualification and manufacturing phases
- Participate in factory acceptance trials (FAT), Site acceptance trials (SAT) during machine build, debug and testing/qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met to achieve high efficiencies in high volume and clean room operations.
- Review qualification protocols and manage equipment qualification activities.
- Prepare Technical reports and Interface with customers on Equipment issues and efficiencies.
Here is some of our required experiences… - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 10+ years related experience building automation systems for assembling complex parts with minimum 5 years’ experience working with manufacturing of medical devices
- Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test (Structural and Non-Contact e.g. Laser), Application of lasers e.g. Etching/Marking, dispense process, plastics welding and joining.
- Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering experience working in high-volume assembly processes
- Complexity and Problem-Solving skills. Can function as a technical expert to equipment and systems regarding troubleshooting and operations
- Working with cross-functional groups in developing requirements and recommendations for highly complex automation system modifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills required. Strong organizational and teamwork skills
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Adherence to domestic and international GMP regulations
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. - 5~10% traveling to machine builders will be required during the buy off phase. Travel may include international travel
