The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, academic year faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank beginning Fall 2019. The successful candidates will be expected to develop and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial engineering, establish externally-funded research programs, contribute to mentoring students, and provide services to the department, the college, the university, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):
A Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, management science, operations research, or a closely related field is required for the position. We are particularly seeking to hire a candidate with teaching and research interests in supply chain management/logistics; engineering management; systems engineering; or information systems applications in industries such as healthcare, energy, finance, information services, and manufacturing. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and laboratory- and project-based instruction and a broad-based knowledge of industrial engineering. Demonstrated ability in written and oral use of the English language is required.
Candidates with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply. Past experience and a commitment to working in a multidisciplinary and collaborative setting is preferred.
