Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for Operations functions of the Kaolin Business at Toddvile and Edgar plants in Middle Georgia Operations.
This position ensures that Toddville and Edgar plant kaolin products are designed, manufactured, and delivered to customers within business financial requirements, supporting the earnings of a premium on the cost of capital. This is accomplished in a sustainable manner, ensuring excellence in safety performance, environmental compliance, and employee health.
In this role, you will define the standard design operating parameters (capacities, rates, costs, headcount, quality, waste) for the plant and ensure that the plant runs at design. You will also monitor equipment, and processes to identify and fix all deviations to design. Key to this role is ensuring best practices in all aspects of operations are shared and implemented across the site and benchmark with other BASF sites.

Working collaboratively with Supply Chain, Quality and Product Management, you will ensure products are shipped on schedule, in cost and within specifications.
Providing inspirational, entrepreneurial and innovative leadership to all departmental disciplines and supporting teams, you will direct the efforts of Production, Planning and Scheduling, Quality and Maintenance teams to ensure that these resources can meet the business requirements for safety, quality, volume and costs.
Leveraging your education in Engineering or other technical field and your experience in manufacturing, you will meet plant targets for safety, quality, cost and volumes as well as all other relevant KPI's. You will also establish, track and meet other objectives for the plants which are consistent with the Middle Georgia site and Kaolin business objectives.
Demonstrating your strong business and financial acumen, you will develop the budget (fixed costs) for the production units and maintenance that meets the business targets and expectations. Additionally, you will track performance to budget and develop and implement solutions when tracking negatively versus the budget. You will develop and track other KPIs needed to ensure that production activities meet all the targets.
As a strong leader and mentor, you will hire, train and develop staff, operators and mechanics to ensure that the units have all the personnel resources needed to meet the site and business needs. You will also ensure that succession planning is planned and completed.
Your technical aptitude will be essential as you institute mechanical integrity and preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure the assets are maintained at the lowest cost possible and prioritize work and capacity utilization with Product Management whenever conflicts exist.
Successfully engaging across the organization, you will coordinate with the site Logistics and Supply Chain team to ensure that the schedule meets forecast and order requirements. Additionally, you will manage the interface between Production, Maintenance, Product Management, Minerals and Strategy Team, ensuring execution of sites Productivity, Engineering projects, and Strategy Implementation as well as Quality initiatives and policies.
