PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide effective Supply Chain Management to the Perioperative areas across the health system with a focus on consignment management, inventory control, supply distribution, expense reduction, supply utilization, and supply standardization.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Clinical Supply Chain Manager, coordinates and monitors all technical and administrative activities of the Perioperative Supply Chain and Supply Chain Team.
Serves as liaison between all Perioperative supply areas and CCHS Materiel Management to pro-actively identify, articulate, and rectify supply chain issues, which may interfere with providing high quality, efficient, and cost effective patient care.
Manages inventory in collaboration with nursing staff and Materials Management Leadership for all matters pertaining to stock placement and par levels in the Perioperative areas.
Serves as direct report for Perioperative Par Staff. Responsible for directing daily activity and positive coaching as needed.
Responsible for the supply chain logistics of stock items used by the Perioperative areas. Coordinates and manages the Perioperative inventory at Christiana Operating Room and Wilmington Operating Room.
Responsible for supply chain logistics of non-stock items used by the Perioperative areas. This includes daily monitoring of reordering of supplies.
Monitors fill rates, compiling usage reports, and creates trending item usage reports to increase in-stock percentage.
Process and quarantine of all recalled implants and medical devices through ECRI in compliance with applicable FDA regulations.
Adjust and manage all inventories associated with Christiana Operating Room and Wilmington Operating Room Center in a cost-effective manner that meets the goals of CCHS.
Recommend processes and practices for process improvement and expense reduction.
Interacts and collaborates with other departments and committees, as required to develop programs to meet overall health system objectives.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to Manager in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients, or visitors.
Responsibility and skill set to step in and perform par reads, reordering and par stocking as required
Assists the Supply Chain Manager in all matters related to effective inventory management as required.
***This position will primarily be an EVENING Shift (3pm-11:30pm), but you will need to be available to work Overnight shift and Day shift as needed. This position requires that you rotate between Wilmington and Christiana hospital***
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Associates Degree in a business related curriculum. Three years minimum experience in Materiel Management with an emphasis on inventory management. Three years minimum supervisory experience. Experience with medically invasive supply chain management is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
