Responsible for sourcing and category management of spend categories designated by supervisor. Utilize sourcing best practice to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers which best meet business needs. Work with Sourcing Managers and key stakeholders to develop and implement commodity and supplier sourcing strategies. Purchase assigned materials, equipment, commodities, and services in support of Amedisys’ agency and HQ operations.
Job Duties and Knowledge
Review and process requisitions into purchase orders.
Work with Accounts Payable Department to resolve supplier invoicing problems.
Communicate with care centers and functional groups on supplier selection, supplier processes and performance, and best practices.
Establish relationships with fellow Procurement and Sourcing team members at all levels.
Maintain up to date awareness of factors that impact customer's business relevant to support areas of responsibility (e.g. new technology, markets, legal, regulatory, transportation, pricing, etc.)
Work as part of an effective customer relationship team with fellow Procurement Team members.
Coordinate service delivery by working cross-functionally and with Procurement Support/Service Providers.
Seek opportunities to demonstrate Procurement's value and grow its role in buying goods and services to all procurement service categories
Customize support through customer collaboration.
Prepare Requests for Proposal and utilize e-sourcing tools to select suppliers.
Monitor and measure supplier performance.
Assist Strategic Sourcing Managers in developing commodity and supplier strategies.
Identify, measure, and document cost savings to achieve cost reduction targets.
Act as a point of contact for potential customer inquiries for areas of responsibility and department policy.
Handle Procurement Associate and customer queries, identifying and implementing solutions to potential needs within given support category.
Create and manage one or more support strategies and processes including but not limited to: Change Management, Communications, Contract Management, Procurement Card, Procurement Policy, Procurement Training, Spend Migration, Supplier Diversity, and Supplier Enablement.
Present useful purchasing reports on a periodic basis and make supply or systems recommendations (when appropriate) to Procurement Partners, Procurement and customer's senior management.
Provide purchasing data to Procurement function as required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field (may be substituted by two years of equivalent work experience
Previous procurement experience preferred (e.g. Internship or Co-op Experience)
Excellent interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of customer service skills when responding to questions and other inquiries from internal and external customers.
Strong computer and software skills.
Ability to read, comprehend and analyze information regarding contracts and other business agreements.
Two (2) to three (3) years of professional procurement experience.
