Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to direct and coordinate with the compliance team on the classification of all imported and exported goods with appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers and trade control data in SAP according to the requirements of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. State Department, and U.S. Other Government Agencies responsible for international trade.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your education and professional experience in Supply Chain, Regulatory, Procurement, or Business Management, you will coordinate, collaborate and recommend new best practice procedures with the Manager and Customs Compliance staff to ensure that HTS numbers and trade control data are assigned to all items that appear in SAP on a daily basis are assigned proper HTS classification numbers and trade control classifications.
Utilizing your strong computer skills in MS Office ( Word, Excel, and Outlook) and SAP, you will review and validate data entered on daily queues in SAP for all areas that pertain to Customs and Foreign Trade Operations for global businesses to include North America, Mexico and Canada.
Your strong verbal and written communication skills will be a valued asset as you coordinate and communicate BASF impact due to political shifts that will impose additional tariffs for BASF imports.
Demonstrating your robust focus, you will conduct research both internally and externally to ensure that correct HTS numbers and trade control data are assigned to all BASF products.
Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with BASF business units to obtain required data to establish accurate classifications.
Your keen attention to detail and accuracy will be essential as you review all HTS numbers that have been assigned to BASF products to ensure accuracy and make corrections as required to ensure compliance with government requirements.
Your ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively will be critical as you maintain database and run reports as needed on HTS and other regulatory data assigned to BASF products and keep current and coordinate HTS classification for duty suspension to ensure BASF received the special tariff rate in effect.
