As the Manager of Quality Improvement, you will lead the GxP compliance efforts (cGDPs, cGMPs, and cGSPs) to further develop, establish, and maintain QA programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standard operating procedures and applicable regulations. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Lead, manage, and participate in quality projects and on cross-functional teams to implement quality systems, infrastructures, and improvements to meet enterprise-wide regulatory requirements
Provide strategic planning and guidance of method, process/QC equipment, software, and related validation activities
Oversee all aspects of vendor/contractor/carrier quality, including carrier onboarding and qualification; maintain master plan to track carrier performance and conduct initial risk and feasibility assessments
Act as XPO’s point of contact for all quality activities; implement, maintain, and ensure contractor adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements documented within Customer Quality Agreements
Serve as the lead subject matter expert on customer-specific product requirements; translate customer requirements into easy-to-understand shipping qualification requirements
Understand the criticality of each customer shipment including what product is on board, what equipment to use, and what SOP to follow; track compliance performance
Differentiate between events that impact schedule and events with potential product quality impact
Maintain SOP for all quality management processes, including: change control, deviations/investigations, CAPA, document control, quality risk management, audit and management of subcontractors
Lead proactive quality systems including risk management and CAPA
Prepare trend reports related to in-process monitoring, audit schedule, critical metrics/KPIs, deviation reports, investigation reports, and CAPAs
Provide QA/GxP guidance and direction to all GxP supporting operational managers regarding GxP compliance; ensure team member training on QMS and customer-specific requirements
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree with scientific or engineering focus, or equivalent
10 years of combined Quality Assurance experience in the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated environment with a thorough knowledge of quality systems (including solid knowledge of GxP and 21 CFR210/211 and 21 CFR 820 regulatory requirements)
It’d be great if you also have:
Advanced degree with scientific or engineering focus
10 years of experience at a manager level or higher
Experience in leading change initiatives; validated ability to accomplish results coupled with meeting aggressive deadlines and commitments
Proven analytical skills with a focus on fact-based decision-making and problem-solving
ASQ CQE, SSBB, and CQM/OE certifications
Supply Chain 3PL/4PL experience
Strong collaboration, organization, and written/verbal communication skills
