As the Buyer, you will lead the sourcing of approximately $26MM of packaging materials annually consisting mostly of rigid packaging materials (bottles, closures), corrugate and labels. You will be responsible for selecting manufacturers and vendors for all packaging components and materials; and managing those vendors to ensure compliance to Nutrabolt’s KPIs and quality standards. Working with Key Stakeholders, you will lead sourcing initiatives that result in lower total landed costs, higher quality and service levels, and strategic relationships with vendors.
A Day in the Life Of:
You will identify and leverage opportunities and directly negotiate to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership for packaging components and materials.
You will perform spend analysis and develop a sourcing roadmap focused on cost savings, process improvement, and supplier management.
You will establish contracts with vendors and manage an approved vendor list.
You will implement vendor performance strategies to ensure ongoing cost improvements, on-time delivery, exceptional quality and service, and market-leading innovation.
You will conduct vendor business reviews that focus on meeting established KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
You will develop category profiles, strategies, and market intelligence for packaging components and materials
You will collaborate with other business units to identify and implement savings initiatives.
You will build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
You will serve as an escalation contact when issues arise relative to suppliers and/or with internal operational departments.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Has a undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (strongly preferred). Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field may be acceptable. Requisite experience will be considered.
Has APP/CPM/CPSM/CSCP certifications (preferred).
Has 3+ years of professional sourcing and vendor management experience with Contract Manufacturers, Direct Materials suppliers, and/or Indirect Goods and Services suppliers.
Has experience developing Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotations (RFQ).
Has experience with establishing and maintaining vendor performance metrics.
Has experience sourcing and negotiating for contract manufacturing, packaging, raw materials, and/or indirect goods and services.
Has the ability to analyze large data sets, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
Has the ability to read and understand material specifications.
Has the ability to operate within the scope of large complex projects, including performing to a project timeline, ensuring quality deliverables, and maintaining effective communication throughout the project.
Has the ability to perform Root-Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Reports.
Has strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Is self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
