We are seeking a professional like you to provide pragmatic, strategic, and day-to-day legal advice and support to executives, business management, and operational personnel of BASF's Technical Procurement, Engineering, Information Technology, Logistics Procurement, and Supply Chain Operations functions. Your focus will be on business function outsourcing, transportation (motor carrier, rail, marine), facility maintenance and management, construction, engineering, capital equipment acquisition and plant turnarounds, and acquisition and maintenance of BASF's IT and communications network.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational and professional background as in-house counsel, combined with your ability to practice law in-house in Texas, you will draft, review, and revise a variety of agreements, including outsourcing, procurement, and services agreements, and other third-party vendor agreements in support of day-to-day transactions. Additionally, you will advise on the application of relevant laws and regulations relating to such transactions.
Through your prior experience in providing legal advice and support to procurement, construction and engineering, you will lead internal and external negotiations, help structure transactions, and draft or review transactional documents, ranging from the simple to sophisticated and complex (including EPC and outsourcing transactions).
Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will identify issues requiring input and support of business and functional support units (e.g., intellectual property, tax, litigation, regulatory, and/or compliance counsel, risk management, finance, EH&S), and establish and manage cross-functional teams to ensure complete and efficient resolution of all matters/transactions.
Successfully engaging inside and outside the organization, you will coordinate efforts with regional legal teams on issues that impact their respective regions, as well as manage relations with outside legal advisers.
