The primary role is to ensure consistent management of supplier contracts across Rayonier Advance Materials (RYAM). This role includes oversight of the contract management process, as well as development of specific standards for submission, contract development, execution and document management. The role in the contract development process requires close collaboration with various departments, including legal, risk management, operations, accounting and Sourcing. Ensures that supplier agreements are executed in a manner that effectively produce results associated with the conditions of the negotiations and appropriately manages the risk associated with the receipt of the good or service. Develops good working relationships with both the Senior Executives of RYAM and the Suppliers.
Liaison between senior commercial levels of suppliers and senior commercial levels of RYAM
Oversee contract development and enforce organizational principles of risk management, clarity and compliance.
Manage applicable contract management systems and database, ensuring fully executed contracts, subcontracts and modifications are accurately tracked.
Develops, with Legal department, standards for contracts, including general language and provisions.
Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support contract development.
Provides Sourcing teams with guidance for negotiations and risk management.
Draft contractual provisions based on supplier negotiations, sourcing team input, and legal and risk management needs and expectations.
Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments (e.g. appendixes, etc.).
Serve as lead during contract development, negotiation and execution.
Provide legal training to relevant stakeholders that are involved in supplier selection, field Supplier Quality Managers (SQM) and users of purchased goods and services.
Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with RYAM and senior supplier contacts about contractual issues.
Review compliance with terms and identify conflicts or change requiring resolution or contract modification.
Develop key contract terms to be monitored in contract management to ensure contracts do not expire and ensure key milestones associated with the alliance requirements are met

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal or related field. CPCM (certified professional contract manager) or CCCM (certified commercial contract manager) preferred.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in complex contract process design, negotiation and administration.
Broad understanding of operational needs in a heavy manufacturing environment and can effectively interact with Senior leaders from operations, business and legal departments. Team player with strong interpretive, interpersonal, analytical, presentation, reasoning and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, excellent written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail. Excellent knowledge of contract law, ability to identify and explain contractual risk, and general understanding of contract management systems. Strong hands on experience with different types of supply agreements (e.g.’s fixed price, time & materials, cost reimbursement, etc.) Bilingual Preferred (English/French)
