POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Supply Chain Management (SCM) Program, to assist in the delivery of supply chain management courses, mentor and supervise master's degree student projects (theses and capstone projects), and conduct independent research. Will also support other educational activities and publish in top international journals. Responsibilities will include teaching, tutoring, grading, and mentoring and supervising student capstone and thesis projects; performing individual research and publishing in leading journals; assisting with conducting lectures on a variety of subjects such as supply chain analysis and database analytics; assisting with running the MIT SCM orientation program in August and running the MIT SCALE Connect activities in January; acting as a teaching assistant for SCM.250 Supply Chain Fundamentals; serving as a mentor and thesis/capstone project supervisor for the residential SCM students and for the blended SCM students, including liaising with them before they arrive on campus; participating in one or more CTL (Center for Transportation and Logistics) industry-sponsored research projects and publishing this research in leading journals; and performing other duties as requested.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, operations management, information systems, engineering, economics, business, or a related discipline. Must have in-depth knowledge of one of the following research areas: supply chain design, supply chain analytics, supply chain strategy, supply chain technologies, or freight transportation.
