QSC seeks an experience and self-motivated Director, Strategic Sourcing. This is a senior role that will govern Strategic Sourcing in the following areas – Contract Manufacturing Management, Category Management and NPI Materials Program Management. Working with the VP of Global Supply Chain, the Director, Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for developing the Strategic Sourcing group’s charter and governance. This individual will be responsible for developing category management strategies and direct the category managers in the implementation of cross functional category teams.
Both in Contract Manufacturing and Category specific sourcing requirements, this individual will develop and set up the ability to assess and monitor supplier capabilities in the areas of process technology, capacity planning, cost/performance metrics and materials planning. The added responsibility will include rolling out a supplier selection policy and procedure incorporating cross functional requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop sourcing strategies; execute leveraged supply agreements working closely with internal and external legal counsel ensuring completeness and accuracy while monitoring compliance on a recurring basis.
Work closely with business owners to understand needs and identify supplier requirements.
Establish negotiating strategies to leverage QSC’s global position and strategic partnerships.
Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain through formal Supplier Selection Process resulting in the choice of long-term strategic supply partners
Work directly with Vice President Global Supply Chain, corporate executives, regional managers, plant managers, and senior procurement leadership
Measure and track ROI by engagement in the areas of cost, quality, value add services, etc. through supplier management and selection initiatives
Lead key supplier commercial relationships and drive strategic savings initiatives that enable competitive advantage.
Establishes, develops and directs Category Teams in the creation and execution of key sourcing strategies. Category teams composed of at a minimum Design Engineering, Product Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering. Determine and direct early supplier or CM involvement for DFM involvement. Secures quotes and delivery for R&D build including specification review and lead-time determination. Coordinates test requirements with Mfg. Eng.
Sets up and leads the New Product Introduction process from a Materials Project Management and risk analysis position prior to production ramp. Manages new product introduction including establishing Supply Chain and First Article qualification and transfer to manufacturing facilities. BOM review and critical component and lead-time determination.
Develops and Implements a Materials Readiness Review process incorporating cross functional participation within the product development process.
Responsible for annual and quarterly costs negotiations to achieve QSC’s cost of sales targets. Responsible for cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking process/technology improvements, supplier negotiations, and supplier partnerships. Establish QBR metrics, cost/delivery improvement plans, MPA, PPV and contract dispute resolution.
Manage and directs Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic supplier through establishing metrics and reporting via the Supplier Scorecard process
Manages the Contract Manufacturing, NPI Materials and Category Management personnel.
Takes a lead role in the development of strategic goals and objectives for department and Corporation on strategic supply chain issues
Education and Experience:
Minimum of a BS/BA degree or related experience.
Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes a plus
Knowledge of metals, plastics, injection molding and CNC machining a plus
