Business Process Owners are subject matter experts within specific business domains. This position requires an expert level of understanding of transportation and logistics management processes that occur within all business units for Ravago Americas. The Business Process Owner should be able to collect information from all businesses, provide training to new users, define necessary updates to ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and work with a wide variety of team members to ensure that specific applications are properly tied in to other functions within the order processing environment.
Work with focals and business managers for each legal entity (LE) in the Americas to understand and communicate work processes to the entire ERP team
Act as the liaison between the businesses and the I/T group
Lead GAP analysis for software changes
Take ownership of existing Program Change Requests (PCRs) that have already been identified in the transportation, logistics, and warehouse management areas
Create new PCRs where process improvements have been identified
Establish process flow charts for any significant proposed ERP modifications
Set up and manage testing models for any PCRs that are delivered within this project area
Provide new and continued training for ERP users to ensure they are using the systems in the most effective ways possible
Attend industry-related conferences and seminars for transportation, logistics, and warehouse management trends and developments
Compare the business processes (inclusive and exclusive of software applications) to the industry-standard best practices to facilitate discussions with the development team
Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) is our primary Transportation Management software (TMS); this system would need to be well understood and easily managed by the Process Owner
Dynamics SL and OHM platforms are currently used for warehouse management, and HighJump will be installed starting in 2017
KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Minimum of four year degree preferred
Supply Chain Management, Logistics handling, or Customer Service (sales/purchasing)
Designing and improving business processes
Requirements gathering for defining change requests in ERP applications
Developing, leading, and performing application test plans (UAT)
Support of business systems
Organizing and facilitating training programs with a variety of delivery methods (classroom, virtual training, or on the job coaching)
Developing training aids, manuals, and handbooks
Organizational change management
Must have exposure to leading a small team
Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated excellence with both oral & written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to perform all other duties as assigned
The Business Process Owner will need to have a broad background in ERP systems, with exposure to as many functions as possible, including purchasing, inventory and warehouse processing, sales order entry, logistics planning, transportation coordination or other tools related to order management. The candidate should have a strong technical understanding of how ERP systems work and a desire to learn the details involved in electronic transactions. This role will require a high level of planning, communication, and strategic thinking, where the individual will need to demonstrate an organizational skillset. Focals and Business Owners are located throughout the Americas and the Business Process Owner would need to have in-person interactions with these teams on a regular basis. Domestic travel would be 20%. The programming and development team is located in Belgium and would require visits at least once/year.
