Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Management, Logistics, General Studies, or related, plus a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in equipment distribution and/or inventory management (preferably in a hospital or healthcare related environment), which includes at least 2 years of experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity overseeing a multi-shift equipment distribution and/or inventory management operation, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Experience implementing and managing on-line productivity tools, procuring and managing equipment and experience managing major contracts required. Excellent written/oral communication, time management, and organizational skills required. Must be available for off hours support calls as well as provide off-shift coverage as necessary to include direct staff supervision, participation in off hours staff meetings and employee counseling sessions.
Job Standard / Operational Needs: Responsible for the entire performance of the hospital supply chain, the Director of Supply Chain Optimization will lead the roll out of the new supply chain paradigm and oversee all aspects of the supply chain including ordering, forecasting, budgeting, inventory control, new item adds, backorders, substitutions, etc. Duties include, but are not limited to, implementing and monitoring inventories for locations to ensure consistence of sterile and non-sterile supplies for patient care units in hospitals, clinics, warehouse and outlying facilities, working closely with Clinicians and Value Analysis Coordinator to optimize patient supplies changes implemented, providing analytical support function to ensure inventory materials are planned, ordered, received, maintained and controlled with the supply chain, and performing analysis and management of inventory levels and demands based on consumption trends. The Director will use current decision support database to review information and create reports from Materials Management databases (Lawson/ Service Log), as well as work with all Materials Management leadership to improve the overall supply process and lead and motivate a professional Materials Management Team working in these areas to ensure superior service is provided. Direct supervisory responsibility will include Ainsley Distribution Center and the Zone Leaders.
