This is a specialized profile in which the individual will have a strategic approach to lab procurement and one that returns hard cost savings on investment. Candidate will need to leverage the value of supplier relationships while working to create more favorable pricing, terms and conditions in exchange for greater market share. Strategic procurement will directly impact lab spend with key suppliers and, at the same time, gain real-time insight into spend data. This individual will be accountable for inventory management functions while coordinating with internal as well as external sources of the organization. This job requires organizing, planning and timely allocation of goods in accordance with the budgetary set points.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Not Limited To)
Person will perform a range of supply duties, to include but not limited to, negotiating price points, receiving and handling materials, warehousing and product research/sourcing. Duties will also include backup to other team members, interaction with vendors and preparation of Standard Operating Procedures according to Regulations.
Maintain and improve vendor relationships in a mutually beneficial and respectful manner
Negotiate pricing/terms with vendors to allow hard cost savings
Ensure the procurement process is as cost-effective and efficient as possible
Forecasting and estimating the potential stock requirements
Maintain and provide an understanding of industry best practices, trends, and supplier network capabilities
Receives materials and performs inspection in accordance with documented procedures
Evaluate cost movement of company products and assess the purchase and invoice details
Process all receiving transactions in applicable inventory management system
Replenish stock as well as fill orders
Tracking the transportation and distribution of inventory
Maintaining the recording of all stock items and compiling evaluation reports
Conducting weekly audits
Vendors for incoming products
Assigning location tags and labels for all housed merchandise
Noting and tracking of lost and damaged shipments
Maintaining product sheets, drawings and other significant documentation for products
