Leonard DRS, Danbury, CT is looking for a Manager, Supply Chain Management. Will be responsible for quality, delivery, and cost of procured materials, and will manage a multi-disciplinary team. Reports to Director, Supply Chain Management. This position will assist in developing forecast/requirements for his/her area of responsibility. Duties include:
Develop/implement strategies; implement transition plans to new supplier
Assist in creating Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements
Monitor metrics and take action as needed
Communicate and clarify department goals and metrics
Ensure monthly budgets are not exceeded; take action to realign if needed
Consolidate requisitions to obtain leverage pricing; review open requisitions weekly and meet with buyers regarding requistions
Review placement to requisition need date and length of time in purchasing
Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on team approach to supplier assessments and approval
Advise Planning, Engineering and Drafting of item master errors, updates, omissions in relation to mil-specs or new or obsolete items
Advise Planning, Engineering and Contracts of changes in prices or lead times that product cost-prohibitive lead times detrimental to production cycles
Expedite critical components to ensure on-time delivery; address any current or potential parts issues
Find creative ways to improve purchasing ability to contribute to company's goals
Improve understanding of purchasing relationship to company plans/ strategy
Research/analyze costing information for cost reduction
Evaluate dispositioned discrepancy reports from program engineers and QC engineers and submit information for re-evaluation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (requirements in bold are ESSENTIAL):
Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or equivalent education/experience combination
Certification through NCMA, APICS, or ISM strongly preferred
Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in high technology, aerospace or defense
Successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities
Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures
Demonstrated soft management skills, particularly "influence management" and "conflict resolution"
Experience throughout product lifecycle from new product introduction through obsolescence, to include: Generation of system/subsystem statements of work and subcontracts; strategic supplier selection; risk management; continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFAR regulations
