Category Manager Professional Services (R17-542)
In this position you will perform in a Category Manager capacity, with primary assignment of the Professional Services category of spend; coordinating purchasing processes and strategies for consulting, staffing, engineering, environmental, legal and other like-services . This position reports to the Supply Chain Services Supervisor.
Support our journey by:
Conducting and coordinating purchasing support activities for complex, time-sensitive and high-impact professional services ranging from talent acquisition/contingent worker strategies through construction engineering and environmental services.
Designs, develops, implements and refines strategic category plans for assigned categories, leveraging industry experience, including necessary stakeholders to drive for process improvement and cost savings for a sustainable and efficient procure-to-pay process.
Develops requests for proposals, requests for information and requests for qualifications.
Assists with administering the solicitation process including identification of need, specification/scope development, vendor selection and outreach, receipt of responses, evaluation committee coordination, contract negotiation, recommendation for award, award notice, contract development and execution, and contract management.
Coordinates with senior leadership, Project Managers, Contract Administrators and suppliers; determines procurement needs, creates timelines for procurement, drafts bids and proposals, and ensures timely delivery of goods and services.
Determines the best method for procurement of all purchases; negotiates pricing and obtain best value; complies with all legal requirements and regulatory deadlines.
Oversees contracts including applying extension options, monitoring and rectifying contractor performance or non-performance, and composing formal notifications; monitors vendor performance reports and encourages users to utilize such resources.
Provides customer service to internal and external customers by expediting purchasing processes; ensures positive rapport with customers through effective communication.
You will bring the following skills to our team:
Contract and bid processes, standards, and protocol.
Compliance requirements for contracts.
Experienced in collaborating with project managers, engineering and legal teams.
Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills.
Coordinating the contract process in relation to goods and services.
Maintaining contract data in the corporate ERP and records systems (PeopleSoft, SharePoint, eRecords).
Prior experience with PeopleSoft preferred
Experience negotiating construction, engineering and/or other professional services agreements preferred.
The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of category management experience; preferably in utilities or industrial settings and a Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, or related field.
CPSM or CPIM preferred.
