These products and services are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance.
As our next Direct Materials Buyer, you are skilled in leading supplier identification, supplier development, and new program implementation efforts. You have strong negotiation and contracting skills, and you are comfortable developing bid documents and analyzing proposals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned areas of spend. Lead supplier identification, supplier development, and new program implementation efforts. Develop, issue and analyze comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFPs) for assigned areas, and recommend the best solution for Trex.
Identify and execute a plan to improve supplier base and leverage spend using ongoing sourcing strategies for assigned areas of spend. Deliver annual cost savings initiatives through execution of sourcing projects and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Maintain communication with internal customers regarding ongoing purchasing status, delivery dates of procured items.
Demonstrate strong negotiation and contracting skills that simultaneously build strong supplier relationships and minimize total cost of ownership to the company.
Monitor and report on supplier performance and cost savings verifications.
Experience and Education:
B.S. degree in business or related field; Institute of Supply Management certification a plus.
3-5 years of relevant supply chain, sourcing, and/or procurement experience.
Knowledge and experience of strategic sourcing best practices, negotiations, contracting, and procurement principles and procedures.
Effective communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to deliver results and cost improvements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP and business intelligence software experience.
