We are looking for a Sourcing Manager or Sr. Sourcing Manager in our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) group to be responsible for $100-200mm in direct material category spend across all Georgia-Pacific business units. The responsibilities for this role include: category management, supplier management, contract management, innovation, development of market points of view (POV’s), implementation of category strategies, and building relationships with the business and operations.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and lead category management for direct materials, to include: o Subject matter expertise in assigned categories o Specifications development and standardization o Supplier management and continuous improvement o Supplier negotiations and contract development/management o Compliance excellence o Tracking and communicating key raw material indexes o Challenging the status quo o Global sourcing o Development of category metrics/KPIs • Develop and communicate a clear understanding of strategic sourcing initiatives, along with the related implementation plan and associated value • Seek knowledge and benchmark the markets, categories, processes, applications and technologies • Bring a mindset of innovation and optimization to the category • Demonstrate leadership in strategic sourcing best practices • Build and leverage relationships with the business, operations, engineering and maintenance teams along with external suppliers • Interact with senior management through formal and inform
What You Will Need:
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or engineering
Successful track record in supporting, leading or managing projects.
Willing and able to travel as required
What Will Put You Ahead?
Negotiations, risk assessments, joint development agreements, and contract management experience.
Professional certifications or advanced degrees.
Relevant experience in chemical and ridged plastic packaging sourcing.
Experience using Ariba or eSourcing tools (e.g., eRFx, eAuction), packaging engineering, manufacturing operations, manufacturing cost systems, managing regulated products (EPA and FDA), SAP.
