This role is responsible for oversight in managing and directing departmental operations and labor within Supply Chain Management Perioperative and Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) at Penn State Hershey Medical Center to align with the organizational strategic imperatives and goals. It is also responsible to identify best practice in product flow including; inventory management to include the storage and the transportation of all materials and inventory to ensure prompt delivery to the customer. The manager will develop and maintain policies on general logistics and procedures to maintain overall inventory based on demand, to standardize practices and procedures and to incorporate lean principles into distribution model. Finally, the role will develop KPIs for all correlating inventory areas that will lead us to be a more lean and efficient Supply Chain team.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field Five (5) years of hospital management experience in either an administrative, financial or Supply Chain / Materials Management leadership capacity required. Two (2) of the five (5) years in Supply Chain Supply & Distribution role Experience with supply technology and its deployment required Experience managing projects required. Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel, Data Base systems is required Experience with developing KPIs required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Analytical Skills required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to work independently and in teams is required. Knowledge of Non-Profit Business decision making models is required.
CPM or other material management and purchasing certifications preferred. Green Belt/Black Belt Six Sigma experience OSHA, Federal Registry, State, IATA, CFR49 and Fir Safety training Haz Mat Certification International Air Transport Association Certification
