Where the Chemistry Happens...
The Supply Chain Raw Material, Packaging, Contract Manufacturing Planner is in charge of all packaging and raw material planning at BASF's Catalyst Manufacturing Plant in Elyria, OH and its associated contract manufacturing operations to support the production plans. The position is responsible for managing, establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the packaging and raw material schedule, and managing the master data process.

Formula for Success: You Will...
Manage Raw Material and Packaging Planning for the Elyria plant and its associated contract manufacturing facilities.
Be responsible for overall raw material and packaging plan in accordance with the production plan.
Run MRP to determine net requirements.
Convert planned purchase requisitions into firm purchase orders.
Communicate the plan to appropriate parties, vendors, and production planners.
Participate in the supply review meeting.
Manage the plant's raw material and packaging supplies inventory health.
Establish inventory targets, safety stock, and track/communicate progress.
Work with Procurement to establish raw material and packaging alternatives, trial plans, secondary suppliers, and to optimize cost and service.
Serve as Site Material Master (SPASS) coordinator for new finished goods, intermediates, and raw material set-ups; including raw material site authorizations and corporate/regulatory compliance.
Function as Supply Chain liaison for contract manufacturers and transloaders.

Site liaison for raw material dysfunctional inventory
Track and contribute input to published KPI's
Inventory value (OIV) and Days of Inventory (DIV)

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...
BS/BA Degree Required in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Operations, or related field, with at least 3 years minimum experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve business goals
Strong organizational skills to effectively set priorities and make decisions in a dynamic work environment that handles multiple concurrent tasks
Action oriented, with good problem solving skills that keep the customer at the forefront
A thorough understanding of raw material and production scheduling theory and techniques
The ability to effectively use ERP supply chain software tools required, preferably SAP R/3 MM, IM, SD modules, SAP APO PP/DS, MS Office and corporate e-mail applications
Knowledge of DOT 49 CFR packaging regulations preferred
APICS (CPIM) certification or nearing completion preferred. If not current, completion within 2 years will be required
