A Value Analyst performs product standardization and value analysis responsibilities by providing leadership in market intelligence and strategic and tactical supply chain benefit analysis. The Value Analyst is responsible for optimizing institutional utilization of GPO and local contracts and standardization programs, managing selection and procurement of new products, and monitoring vendor solicitation activities throughout the institution. The Value Analyst is responsible for spend management across the OHSU Clinical Enterprise in excess of $150M annually. The Value Analyst utilizes clinical and business experience to act as a liaison between Logistics, OHSU departments, and senior administration through the Value Analysis Committee in order to ensure a balance between quality patient care and institutional fiscal health. The role of the Value Analyst will be to support optimization of product and device cost and use, patient care, patient safety, caregiver safety, physician satisfaction, and supply chain performance through the oversight of the product review, evaluation, selection, and implementation process. Regular communications and coordination of work with physician and institution leadership, counterpart teams and other key internal and external stakeholders engaged in supply chain activities are integral to this position.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nursing, or other field related to the position OR three (3) additional years of relevant experience.
Three (3) years of progressive responsibility in purchasing or contracting with project management experience, OR clinical setting with demonstrated medical product proficiency or medical product selection, from either a care provider or sales position perspective.
Demonstrates high levels of accuracy with data entry, organization and management
Demonstrates analytical experience using spreadsheets, databases and word processing software
Demonstrates strong problem solving and duty prioritization skills
Demonstrates basic understanding of healthcare and purchasing terminology
Demonstrates experience participating in cost savings or process improvement projects
Demonstrates advanced customer service skills
Demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills
Program or project management experience preferred.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of medical terminology and medical supply product knowledge.
Must demonstrate knowledge of contracts and specifications for complex medical, scientific and highly technical products.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the medical vendor community and Group Purchasing Organizations.
Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management techniques.
