The Supply Chain Manager will report to the Director Vision Lab Operations, E&I Specialty Benefits and will be responsible for shipping, receiving, vendor relationship management and inventory management. The manager will also be responsible for the supervision, training, and development of staff. Primary Responsibilities: Determining work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflowManaging warehouse space, inventory and storageEnsure quality, delivery budget and environmental objectives are metAnalyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availabilityReceive invoicing and verify against purchase orders, and work with accounts payable to make sure information is accurate prior to entering into the accounting systemInterviewing and hiring new employeesConferring with other managers outside of the warehouse department to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assuranceIdentifying employee's skills and developing them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basisConducting annual performance reviews and providing continual feedback on both positive and negative performanceComplies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by understanding, following, and enforcing rules, and escalating issues to management when necessaryPerforming other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or higher level of education8+ years of previous Management / Supervisory experience 5+ years of Procurement experience5+ years of Business Analysis and Process Improvement experience5+ years of Inventory Management expertiseStrong Project Planning and Organization DevelopmentIntermediate or greater with Excel, Word, PowerPoint Effective written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and follow through with communication and a sense of urgency for deadlines Strong communication skills in order to train and motivate employeesPreferred Qualifications: MBA or comparable level of education Experience in the Optical Industry strongly preferred Experience managing national shipping vendors, logistic planningStrong time management skills and attention to deal with a variety of duties and prepare reports according to schedule Careers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
